ENVI is a division of Chrysler LLC whose purpose is creating Electric vehicle and related advanced-propulsion technologies.
ENVI is headed by Lou Rhodes who had been in charge of "Advance Vehicle Concepts and Innovation" at Chrysler LLC.
The group is dedicated solely to creating Production vehicle, and not basic engineering research.
In September 2008, ENVI revealed three "production intent" electric vehicles to the public and announced that Chrysler LLC will start bringing a portfolio of electric vehicles to showrooms in 2010. The vehicles employ range-extending technology as well as pure electric technology and all use advanced lithium-ion batteries.
The ENVI group is also creating a new Hybrid vehicle from "the ground up" in the same manner as was designed the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight.
