The rear wheel drive D platform was the chassis used by the Chrysler Imperial line from 1955 until 1973. It was body on frame from 1955 until 1966, and unit body from 1967 until 1973. The 55-66 models had a 129" wheelbase, 55-65 limos a 150" wheelbase, and the 67-73 models had a 127" wheelbase. It maintained noticeably different styling from C body Chrysler's until 1969, when it adopted the same fuselage styling as the C body models.
