[edit] Template-info.svg Template documentation

This template should be used on articles describing a dotcom and its website (for example: YouTube, eBay, Facebook). If the two entities do not share the same name and/or have their own article, use {{Infobox Company}} and {{Infobox Website}} instead on the appropriate article (example: Google (company) and Google search (website), Yahoo! (company) and Yahoo search (website)).

Usage

Copy a blank version to use. All fields must be lowercase, and all are optional except for the name, type and foundation. A location field(s) is required, use either location or location_city/location_country.

Microformat

The HTML mark up produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the organisation's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue article across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. For more information about the use of microformats on Wikipedia, please see the microformat project.

If the organisation has an "established", "founded", "opened" or similar date, use {{Start date}}.

hCard uses HTML classes including:

  • adr
  • agent
  • category
  • country-name
  • extended-address
  • fn
  • label
  • locality
  • nickname
  • note
  • org
  • region
  • street-address
  • vcard

Please do not rename or remove these classes.

Use {{Birth date}} for the "foundation" date, but ONLY if a full YYYY-MM-DD date is available.
